A postcard to home from William Mary Schifferli to his younger sister Mary Josepha Schifferli.

William at this time was sick with tuberculosis, and would soon return in early June 1908 to the family home in Buffalo NY from school in Innsbruck to convalesce, but would pass away on 27-Jul-1908, a few months after this card was written.

May 4/08

Left my sick room yesterday for the first time, shall do so again today this AM. the Dr. said he was "[…]” with my temperature, “[…]” with my lungs because they are getting better all the time, but he’s not satisfied with my […] heart as yet because it is still too weak from my long stay in bed. He prescribed something for it so I hope it will soon be stronger. Notice the clock in the picture it has 24 hrs. like all clocks in Italy. Regards William
