The lack of postmark could suggest that the writer, someone with the surname Zehnder, was friends of William Schifferli’s family in Döttingen, permitting the card to be hand-delivered or slipped into an envelope with a letter from family. Calling him and his friend group “students” and reference to the parish setting also suggests maybe a theology teacher or priest of the area.
